On Thursday 26th of March, half of Year 6 boys and
girls participated in the rugby league seven a side. All teams played
exceptionally well and a Year 6 boys and girls team were successful and have
made it to the next carnival. This means we have the opportunity to win the Rod
Wishart shield. When Mr Heffernan arrived at the carnival, he was delighted to
hear that we had beaten St Therese and The Good Samaritan. Although we're sure
all schools had a fantastic day! We're looking forward to the next competition!

Year 6 and Kinder Buddies
Today between
recess and lunch Year 6 helped their kinder buddies make a special place for
their teddies. Kindergarten used their creativity and imagination to
create a special space for their teddy to use. They had to create this special
space using place recyclable materials. When our buddies had finished making
their space for their teddy, we used our iPads to create a special postcard
about their creation. Year 6 enjoyed helping kindergarten create something
special for their toys.

Our Baptism
On Sunday 29th of March, we were Baptised at St
Columbkille's Catholic Church. This was a very special day as it was also Palm
Sunday, and the beginning of Holy Week. We were baptised by Father Richard.
Father Richard blessed us with the Holy Water. We both had a wondering
day with our families and the church community.

Representing Illawarra for AFL
On Thursday and Friday of last week Jack,
Ciaran, Jeremy and I represented Illawarra in AFL. It took a 4 long hours in
the car, but we finally made it. When we arrived at the hotel we all decided to
have a rest. The next day we went down to the oval and were presented with our
representative jerseys. I received the number 12. Our first game was against
Sydney. Jack, Jeremy and I made it into the probables and possibles and
played to the best of our abilities. Jeremy was selected in the MacKillop team
to go to Sydney to play in the MacKillop team.

Friday Fun Day
Today Year 6 went down to Memorial Park for sport. We participated in fun games
including soccer, snatch and warm up activities. We then split up into boys and
girls, and participated in more fun games. The boys played soccer on the large soccer field
and the girls played soccer on the two mini fields. After recess we read the book
Chinese Cinderella. Today our class felt sad for Adeline, as this chapter
started with an emotional loss and family rejection; yet it made us feel
closer to the characters in the text especially Adeline.
