Gallipoli

In class today we learnt about Gallipoli. For our Focus On Reading lesson, we viewed a text about the “planning” and the “landing”, leading up to the events that took place. I learnt about some of the events that happened in Gallipoli and how the war began.

Prayer

Today during Religion we lit a candle and prayed for all the poor and the sick. We prayed that they may get better or find some peace in their pain. We said a special prayer for Mrs Simpson and Mr Devlin, and for all the other people in our community who are unwell. I really enjoyed prayer today, as everyone got a chance to share their prayers.

Asian Mask and Easter Raffle

Today Year 6 started painting their masks. We used our pictures that we had drawn to help us create an Asian mask. Everyone painted their masks using different colours and I must say they all look great! We all had fun and it was an opportunity to show each other how talented we all are.  The masks have taken us a few weeks to make because of the layers of papier mache, although I think they have all turn out exceptionally well. Great work Year 6!

At the end of the day we had our whole school Easter raffle. It was exciting watching all the children when the barrel was being spun. Well done to all the winners!

7 A Side Rugby

On Thursday 26th of March, half of Year 6 boys and girls participated in the rugby league seven a side. All teams played exceptionally well and a Year 6 boys and girls team were successful and have made it to the next carnival. This means we have the opportunity to win the Rod Wishart shield. When Mr Heffernan arrived at the carnival, he was delighted to hear that we had beaten St Therese and The Good Samaritan. Although we're sure all schools had a fantastic day! We're looking forward to the next competition!

Year 6 and Kinder Buddies

Today between recess and lunch Year 6 helped their kinder buddies make a special place for their teddies. Kindergarten used their creativity and imagination to create a special space for their teddy to use. They had to create this special space using place recyclable materials. When our buddies had finished making their space for their teddy, we used our iPads to create a special postcard about their creation. Year 6 enjoyed helping kindergarten create something special for their toys.
