In the school holidays we will celebrate NAIDOC week.
NAIDOC stands for National Aborigines and Islanders Day Observance Committee. NAIDOC
week is held in the first full week of July. It’s a time to celebrate
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander history, culture and achievements and it
is also an opportunity to recognise the contributions that Indigenous
Australians make to our country and our society. This year’s theme is We All
Stand On Sacred Ground: Learn, Respect and Celebrate. In class we have been
creating artwork to be displayed around our school, to show our support for
NAIDOC week.
